BASIC FUNCTION:

Deliver, serve, and retrieve food and/or beverages to the banquet guests in a gracious, friendly, and professional manner. To also practice Aggressive Hospitality and show professionalism with guests, management, and co-workers. Will also take pride in all facets of service, quality, appearance, and cleanliness in him/herself and the department.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Carry out the policies and procedures of The Mission Inn Resort & Club.

2.Deliver food and/or beverages to private dining guests in a timely fashion. This includes, but is not limited to, lifting and transporting trays, knowing and implementing steps of services as per training manual.

3.Must ensure proper room set-up in accordance to provided information (B.E.O.)

a.setting up reception tables with skirting and linens - requires manual dexterity

b.lift and move props up to 10 lbs.

c.setting up chafing dishes and lifting no more than 10 - 15 lbs.

d.setting up dining tables with proper silverware and other service pieces, lifting no more than 10 lbs.

e.stocking and moving rolling banquet bar; must have help moving rolling and or/ lifting banquet bar over thresholds .

4.Comprehend information from B.E.O. and Daily Function sheets often.

5.Comprehend the layout of the hotel and report to the assigned area daily.

6.Maintain the cleanliness in the working area constantly.

7.Check in accordance to hotel standards daily:

a.punch in at appropriate time clock

b.wear a proper clean uniform

8.Walk great distances during the course of the day's activities, from one area of the resort to another.

9.Interact with guests to take drink and food orders.

10.Communicate with kitchen for food item.

11.Ensure prompt delivery of food to event.

12.Have working knowledge of liquor, beer, wine and food that is served at the property.

13.Handle all checks and cash according to procedures.

14.Ensure cleanliness of banquet supplies including polished flatware, clean glassware and plates, lifting and/ or moving no more than 10 - 15 lbs.

15.Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.

16.Use proper verbal etiquette including greetings and using the guests name.

17.Fill out consumption sheets per event.

18.Safe alcohol service

19.Lift and move partially full buckets of ice, not to exceed 10 - 15 lbs.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.

2.Help out in other areas of the restaurant, including seating guests.

 

ENVIRONMENT:

Indoors, dimly lit, carpeted, climate controlled environment. Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas. Handling hot china and silver. Outdoors, cement surfaces, with exposure to outdoor climate and elements.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

Must have minimum one year of fine dining food service experience.

Bartender experience is required.

Able to comprehend and communicate using fluent English.

Must be punctual and reliable.

Good food and service knowledge.

Pleasant personality.

Excellent communication/customer service skills.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Banquet experience preferred but not required.
